Moomba Beach Bar is located along Aruba’s famous Palm Beach. It’s on the northwest end, past the Holiday Inn.

It’s a giant, open-air palapa hut set on boards just above the sand. You have a great view out over the beach at the boats floating in the clear Caribbean sea. The drinks are cold, the staff friendly, and there are plenty of revelers to join in the fun. They got creative with one of their lights as you can see here:

That’s an interesting use of empty beer bottles. As far as I know, if you ring the bell, you bought a round for everyone at the bar, so be careful with that.

Either way, it’s a pleasant retreat from the sun and sand for a bit of refreshment and conversation. Better yet, you can walk to many of the hotels in just a few minutes. As always, enjoy your imbibing responsibly.

Arashi Beach can be found near the northwest end of the island. It’s a relatively small beach, but there’s plenty of sand to stretch out on. New palapa huts have been built along with a convenient parking lot, too. Take a look.

Now that is an inviting scene. Picture yourself stretched out there, or frolicking in the water, or chatting with a friend. Dare I mention reading a good book? I could name a few. Anyway, to get to Arashi Beach, you simply drive along the main road toward to the lighthouse until you come to the appropriately labeled wall that looks like this:

And you have arrived at a little slice of paradise. Enjoy it responsibly and always use sunscreen!

Druif Beach is a swath of sand located near the Tamarijn Resort in Aruba. It’s not the largest beach on the island, but it certainly is quite nice. Here’s a photo, looking north west.

There’s plenty of room there to stretch out and soak up the sun. This season there were few crowds here. It was slightly crowded a few Sunday afternoons, but nothing to complain about. Of course the adjacent Caribbean is balmy and inviting, one more reason Aruba is such a popular vacation destination.

Seashell hunters will be disappointed if they come to Aruba in search of augmenting their collection. The geography of the island and surrounding waters does not provide much in the way of dramatic shells. The photo below shows the paltry pickings of a recent walk along Druiff Beach. This was after a passing storm churned up the bottom. Otherwise there would have been even less.

The pen is there to show scale. Not an exciting bunch. Still, the walk along the beach, especially in the morning is refreshing. Aruba’s beaches are among the finest in the world. So, forget about the shells and pull up a chair, or go for a walk, or just lie on the sand. You won’t be disappointed.

Aruba’s Baby Beach is a popular place for visitors and locals alike. The calm, sheltered water makes for easy swimming. The powder soft sand is comfortable, too. Lately, there have been a number of improvements to the area including a new wall separating the parking area from the beach, new palapa huts with permanent bases, and another snack shack. You can hang out in the shade when you’re not in the water. You and ten of your friends. Or go get a snack at the following place:

Enjoy your day at Baby Beach. Don’t forget the sunscreen, big hat, and plenty of water. On your way to your accommodations, why not stop by Charlie’s Bar for a beverage and plenty of fun? Sure, it’s the right thing to do.

Aruba is a great wedding destination. During the northern winters you can have the perfect day here on the the island. One of the keys to a pleasant and memorable day is selecting the right location and official. The Bucuti Beach Resort and the Reverend Robert Gibson are a fantastic combination. Yes, Reverend Gibson is a friend of mine, but I’ve been to my share of weddings here in Aruba. His ceremony is the most thoughtful and heartfelt of any. Take a look at this video to get an idea of the setting and see Reverend Gibson in action.

It was the perfect day, complete with a beautiful sunset. If you’re thinking about having your wedding here, be sure to check out all your options and talk with others so that you are sure to have a stress free day.

Palm Beach, Aruba, hosts a line of high-rise hotels. This beach is wide, clean, and inviting. The Caribbean is always warm. Depending upon the wind direction, the water is either as calm as a millpond or rolling to shore in small waves. Take a look at the video.

I took this video later in the afternoon when many people have left the beach. There are palapa huts along the beach, usually maintained by the hotels. These have to be occupied early, as many people stake them out all day. You’ll also find that some hotels offer drink service on the beach. Quite convenient. Along the way are two piers where you’ll find bars, water sports equipment rentals, and your fellow beach lovers enjoying themselves.

Be careful because the sun is strong in Aruba!

Eagle Beach is one of the largest and best beaches in Aruba, if not the entire Caribbean. As the number of hotels and condos has increased in Aruba, people talk about the beaches getting crowded. Sometimes they are crowded but many times, as you’ll see in this video, there is more than enough space. Take a look:

As you can see, there was hardly anyone on the beach. This video was taken on a Friday, about the middle of the morning. All you need to enjoy Eagle Beach is suntan lotion, a towel, and the right attitude. May I recommend a good book?

Here is a short video I made showing the drive to Baby Beach, Aruba. The video begins after San Nicolaas, at the anchor memorial. It then continues to a deserted Baby Beach. The best time to go is early in the morning when you can have the place to yourself, more or less. Take a view:
